Phili 2 – Nashville 1- Visitors to BMO Field leave with nothing

Toronto FC strolled past Nashville SC with a 2-1 win on Sunday at BMO Field. As the table looks today, Phili are currently 14th with 18 points from 34 matches, while Nashville sit in 2nd, with 41 points from 34.

It was an impressive opening from Phili, thanks to Shaffelburg giving Phili the lead at the 19 minute mark to see out the first half 1-0.

Nashville took the initiative in the second half, with Sapong finding the net at the 74 minute mark. Phili in turn, then responded at the 79 minute mark increasing their lead with an effort from González. The game ended with a 2-1 win for Phili.

For Phili, Soteldo and Mullins, came on for Achara and Dwyer. Nashville replaced Leal, Muyl, Mccarty, Cádiz and Aké Loba with Ríos, Washington, Tah Anunga, Sapong and Johnston.

There were bookings for Bradley from Phili, and Lovitz, for Nashville.
