Toronto FC’s 3-2 win over Cincinnati on Thursday, was hard fought at BMO Field. After today’s result, Phili are currently 13th with 22 points from 36 matches, while Cin sit in 14th, with 20 points from 36.
Cin started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with a goal from Matarrita in the 38th minute, to take a 0-1 lead into half time.
Phili started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, thanks to an early goal from Shaffelburg in the 48th minute. The momentum was now with Phili, who then scored again through a goal from Delgado, at 55 minutes to establish a 2-1. Phili looked to have the game under control when they scored again and incerased their lead, thanks to a goal from Achara at the 65 minute mark to establish a 3-1. Orange and Blue in turn, then responded at the 72 minute mark increasing their lead with an effort from Acosta and seeing the game end 3-2.
For Phili, Marshall-Ruty, Morrow and Mullins, came on for Achara, Shaffelburg and Soteldo. Cin replaced Valot, Kubo, Cameron, Cruz and Barreal for Medunjanin, Harris, Blackett, Stanko and Vázquez.
There were bookings for Achara, Soteldo and Marshall-Ruty from Phili, and Valot, Castillo, Vallecilla and Stanko, for Cin.
