Toronto FC’s 3-1 win over Chicago Fire on Sunday, was hard fought at BMO Field. As it stands, Phili are in 13th place, with 25 points from 38 matches, while Chicago sit in 12th, with 27 points from 38.
Chicago started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with Berić finding the net, 16 minutes in. However, their lead was short lived, as Delgado equalised for Phili just before half-time. The score at half time was 1-1.
Phili continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from González at the 56 minute mark. Phili then scored again and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Soteldo, 70 minutes in with a final score of 3-1.
For Phili, Marshall-Ruty, Morrow and Mullins, came on for Shaffelburg, Achara and Soteldo. Chicago brought on Aliseda, Ivanov, Offor, Collier and Calvo, to replace Herbers, Espinoza, Medrán, Kappelhof and Navarro.
There were bookings for Soteldo and Laryea from Phili. For Chicago, Offor saw yellow.
Phili will play their next game at home against Atlanta United, while Chicago will face New England Revolution away.
