Phili 2 – NYC 2: Stalemate at BMO Field

Phili were held to 2-2 draw by NYC down on Sunday at BMO Field. Following today’s result, Phili are in 12th place, with 15 points from 24 matches, while NYC sit in 3rd, with 28 points from 24.

The Pigeons started the first half well, with Rodríguez giving NYC the lead, 12 minutes in. NYC then netted once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Ismael Tajouri at the 21 minute mark. The score at half time was 0-2.

Phili started the second half with an intensified spirit, thanks to an early goal from Laryea in the 49th minute. However they weren’t finished yet and Pozuelo made it 2-2, 56 minutes in to make it 2-2.

For Phili, Achara, Priso-Mbongue, Deleon, Shaffelburg and Morrow, came on for Altidore, Bradley, Osorio, Pozuelo and Zavaleta. NYC brought on Acevedo, Andres Jasson, Moralez, Gray and Medina, to replace Sands, Andrade, Ismael Tajouri, Tinnerholm and Rodríguez.

There were bookings for Soteldo, Laryea and Priso-Mbongue from Phili, and Morales, for NYC.

NYC and Phili will next play at home to Inter Miami and New England Revolution respectively.
