Kansas 1 – Seattle 2- Visitors secure points with win at Children’s Mercy Park

Kansas on Monday lost to Seattle Sounders on a home defeat at Children’s Mercy Park. After today’s result, Kansas are in 2nd place, with 46 points from 36 matches, while Seattle sit in 1st, with 48 points from 36.

The Sounders dominated the first half, with Roldan giving Seattle the lead at the 31 minute mark to see out the first half 0-1.

Seattle started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, thanks to a goal from Bruin, 55 minutes in. Kansas in turn, then responded, 60 minutes in increasing their lead with an effort from Russell and seeing the game end 2-1.

Both managers used all substitutions. For Kansas, Walter and Isimat-Mirin, came on for Espinoza and Mauri, Seattle brought on Medranda, O’Neill, Rowe and Leyva to replace Tolo, Smith, Bruin and Paulo.

There were bookings for Zusi from Kansas. For Seattle, Tolo, Gómez and Roldan saw yellow.

Kansas will play at home against Houston Dynamo, while Seattle will face San Jose away.
