On Sunday, Houston Dynamo suffer an away defeat to Sporting Kansas City at Children’s Mercy Park. As the table looks today, Kansas are in 2nd place on the table and has 16 points while Houston sit in 6th with 11 points after 10 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Orange Crush, thanks to Vera giving Houston the lead in the 14th minute to see out the first half 0-1.

Kansas started the second half with renewed vigour, with a goal from Gianluca Busio, 52 minutes in. The momentum was now with Kansas, who then scored again through a goal from Pulido, on 61 minutes to establish a 2-1. The momentum was now with Wizards, who then scored again through a goal from Kinda in the 65th minute to establish a 3-1. Houston in turn, then responded just before the final whistle increasing their lead with an effort from Maxi Urruti. The game ended 3-2 to Kansas.

For Kansas, Russell and Walter, came on for Shelton and Espinoza. Houston brought on Cerén, Lassiter and Bajamich for Jones, Memo Rodríguez and Vera.

There were bookings for Zusi from Kansas, and Jones, Vera and Boniek García, for Houston.

Next up, Kansas are away to Portland Timbers, whilst Houston will travel to face Los Angeles FC.
