Kansas 3 – COLO 1: Wizards celebrate win at Children’s Mercy Park

Sporting Kansas City eased past Colorado Rapids in a 3-1 victory on Thursday at Children’s Mercy Park. Following today’s result, Kansas are currently 2nd with 19 points from 12 matches, while COLO sit in 3rd, with 16 points from 12.

Wizards started strongly in the first half, with Salloi giving Kansas the lead, 14 minutes in. Wizards then scored once more and increased their advantage thanks to a 2nd effort from Salloi, on 38 minutes, which saw the first half end 2-0.

Kansas continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Hernandez in the 64th minute. In the end though, COLO just before the final whistle hit back though via a Rosenberry goal and seeing the game end 3-1.

For Kansas, Pulido, Amadoy Dia, Duke and Rad, came on for Russell, Martins, Espinoza and Ilie. COLO replaced Jonathan Lewis, Benezet, Mezquida, Shinyashiki and Galván with Price, Rubio, Bassett, Barrios and Wilson.
