Kansas 2 – Los Angeles 1: Job done for Wizards at home to The Black and Gold

Sporting Kansas City beat Los Angeles FC with a thumping 2-1 victory on Sunday at Children’s Mercy Park. Following today’s result, Kansas are in 2nd place, with 22 points from 13 matches, while Los Angeles sit in 8th, with 12 points from 13.

Los Angeles scored first, thanks to a goal from Moon Hwan Kim in the 24th minute and the first half ended 0-1.

Wizards continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Pulido finding the net after 61 minutes. However they weren’t finished yet and Salloi made it 2-1 just before the final whistle to make it 2-1.

For Kansas, Zusi, Amadoy Dia, Shelton and Harris, came on for Lindsey, Martins, Pulido and Espinoza. Los Angeles replaced Kaye, Baird, Vela, Fall and Bryce Duke with Cifuentes, Danny Musovski, Blessing, Rossi and Moon Hwan Kim.

The referee booked Ilie from Kansas. Los Angeles had the worst of it though, with Blackmon and Romero seeing yellow, and Blackmon then sent off with a red.
