Seattle 0 – Portland 2: The Sounders suffer home loss to The Timbers

Seattle were defeated at home by Portland Timbers at CenturyLink Field on Monday. As the table looks today, Seattle are currently 1st with 42 points from 30 matches, while Portland sit in 7th, with 27 points from 30.

After a goalless first half, The Timbers continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Blanco giving Portland the lead, at 58 minutes. However they weren’t finished yet and Mora made it 2-0 just before the final whistle to make it 2-0.

For Seattle, Medranda, Benezet, Montero and Bruin, came on for Smith, Roldan, O’Neill and Rowe. Portland brought on Paredes, Tuiloma, Valeri, Fochive and Moreno, to replace Williamson, Paredes, Blanco, Van Rankin and Chará.

The referee booked Van Rankin and Valeri for Portland.

Seattle will play at home against Minnesota United, while Portland will face Vancouver Whitecaps away.
