Seattle 1 – Minnesota 0: The Sounders secure 3 points at home against The Loons

Seattle Sounders beat Minnesota United with a thumping 1-0 victory on Sunday at CenturyLink Field. After today’s result, Seattle are in 1st place on the table and has 45 points while Minnesota sit in 6th with 31 points after 31 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Seattle, thanks to a goal from Paulo at the 22 minute mark and the first half ended 1-0. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 1-0.

Both managers used allfull available substitutions. For Seattle, Roldan, Smith, Montero and Roldan, came on for Benezet, Medranda, Atencio and Bruin, Minnesota brought on Adi and Hayes, to replace Hunou and Fragapane.

There were bookings for Gómez and O’Neill from Seattle. For Minnesota, Alonso, Hunou, Chase Gasper and Hayes saw yellow.
