Sassuolo 3-1 Fiorentina – Win for Neroverdi at the MAPEI Stadium, as they beat The Purple One 3-1

Sassuolo defeat Fiorentina 3-1 on Saturday at the MAPEI Stadium. Sassuolo were looking to pick up points after winning last match. Fiorentina were beaten 3-2 in the previous match against Atalanta. As the table looks today, Sassuolo and Fiorentina currently occupy 8th and 16th spots in the table, with 46 points and 30 points respectively after 31 matches.

The first half of the game started favourably for The Purple One, with a goal from Giacomo Bonaventura in the 31st minute and seeing the first half out 0-1.

Neroverdi continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Domenico Berardi in the 59th minute. Sassuolo looked to have the game under control when they scored again and incerased their lead, thanks to a second effort from Domenico Berardi at the 62 minute mark to establish a 2-1. However they weren’t finished yet and Maxime Lopez made it 3-1 in the 75th minute to make it 3-1.

For Sassuolo, Gregoire Defrel, Domenico Berardi, Giorgos Kyriakopoulos, Manuel Locatelli and Marlon, came on for Hamed Junior Traore, Filip Djuricic, Rogerio, Giacomo Raspadori and Mert Muldur. Fiorentina brought on Valentin Eysseric, Jose Callejon, Kevin Malcuit and Christian Kouame, to replace Gaetano Castrovilli, Giacomo Bonaventura, Lorenzo Venuti and Cristiano Biraghi.

There were bookings for Hamed Junior Traore, Maxime Lopez and Mert Muldur from Sassuolo, and Gaetano Castrovilli, Nikola Milenkovic, Cristiano Biraghi, Valentin Eysseric and Erick Pulgar, for Fiorentina.

Fiorentina and Sassuolo will next play away to Hellas Verona and AC Milan respectively.
