San Jose 2 – Los Angeles 1: Quakes jubilant after home win against The Black and Gold

Los Angeles FC fell to an away defeat at the hands of San Jose at Avaya Stadium on Monday. As the table looks today, San Jose are in 10th place on the table and has 21 points while Los Angeles sit in 6th with 23 points after 24 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Quakes, with Nathan Pelae finding the net at the 11 minute mark. San Jose looked to have the game under control when they scored again and incerased their lead, thanks to a goal from Chofis Lopez at the 28 minute mark to establish a 2-0. However, Los Angeles hit back though just before half-time, with a calamitous own goal from Yueill. The score at half time was 2-1. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 2-1.

For San Jose, Ebobisse, Marie, Fierro, Remedi and Wondolowski, came on for Abecasis, Cowell, Salinas, Chofis Lopez and Yueill. Los Angeles brought on Rossi, Fall, Blessing, Edwards and Danny Musovski, to replace Murillo, Rodríguez, Cifuentes, Arango and Ginella.

There were bookings for Cowell and Ebobisse from San Jose. For Los Angeles, Murillo and Rossi saw yellow.
