San Jose Earthquakes – Portland Timbers – Jubilant Portland take all 3 points against San Jose, in a 2-0 win

San Jose Earthquakes fell to a home defeat at the hands of Portland Timbers at Avaya Stadium on Sunday. As the table looks today, San Jose are in 4th place on the table and has 9 points while Portland sit in 9th with 6 points after 7 matches.

The Timbers dominated the first half, thanks to an early goal from Chará in the 5th minute, finishing the first half 0-1.

Portland continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Loria in the 74th minute. When the final wisthle blew, the result was 2-0 to Portland.

For San Jose, Wondolowski, Salinas, López, Benjamin Kikanovic and Jack Skahan, came on for Espinoza, Jungwirth, Marie, Fierro and Rios. Portland brought on Asprilla, Zambrano, Valeri, Mcgraw and Van Rankin for Ebobisse, Polo, Mora, Bonilla and Loria.

The referee booked two players from Portland, Tuiloma and Župarić.
