Portland won 2-0 against RSL in the return meeting held this Sunday at Providence Park and qualify for the final. In their next game, scheduled for next 11th December, they will try to become the new Champions of the season, one more step to also becoming potential title winners. For now, they are the new Conference Champions, which is a great achievement considering the last rivals they defeated in the past games.

Portland started the game well, thanks to an early goal from Mora in the 5th minute. They then managed to see out the first half 1-0.

The Timbers continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Moreno finding the net, 61 minutes in, leaving the final score at 2-0.

For Portland, Niezgoda, Valeri, Bodily and Fochive, came on for Mora, Loria, Moreno and Paredes. RSL replaced Wood, Meram and Menéndez with Méndez, Julio and Nick Besler.

The referee booked Moreno from Portland. RSL had the worst of it though, with Herrera and Ruiz seeing yellow, and Herrera (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

This victory will please Portland to maintain this winning form as they advance in the competition, whilst RSL must now wait another season to try again.
