Portland were held to 2-2 draw by COLO down on Thursday at Providence Park. As it stands, Portland are in 5th place on the table and has 34 points while COLO sit in 3rd with 43 points after 33 matches.
After an un-eventful first half, COLO fought back the second half, with Jonathan Lewis giving COLO the lead, 64 minutes in. However, their lead was short-lived, as an equalizer from Mora, 67 minutes in, brought The Timbers level. However, each side looked hungry to win and COLO then found the back of the net in the 87th minute thanks to Barrios, taking the score to 2-1. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Blanco equalised for Portland just before the final whistle and seeing the game end 2-2.
For Portland, Van Rankin, Fochive and Niezgoda, came on for Chará, Paredes and Mora. COLO brought on Lucas Esteves, Mezquida, Barrios and Kellyn Acosta, to replace Galván, Shinyashiki, Kaye and Bassett.
The referee booked Blanco, Tuiloma, Paredes and Steve Clark from Portland and Tuiloma (2 yellow cards) went off with a red card, while COLO’s Trusty, Kaye and Abubakar also received a yellow.
