Portland 0 – Minnesota 1- The Loons secure 3 points at Providence Park

Minnesota United strolled past Portland Timbers with a 1-0 win on Sunday at Providence Park. As it stands, Portland are in 8th place on the table and has 13 points while Minnesota sit in 6th with 14 points after 14 matches.

Minnesota started the game well, with an early goal from Hunou in the 2nd minute. The score at half time was 0-1. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the game ended 1-0.

For Portland, Asprilla, Fochive and Bodily, came on for Zambrano, Tuiloma and Valeri. Minnesota brought on Finlay, Agudelo, Kallman and Alonso, to replace Niko Hansen, Hunou, Reynoso and Fragapane.

There were bookings for Bravo and Chará from Portland. For Minnesota, Dotson and Reynoso saw yellow.

Portland will next play Austin away, with Minnesota facing San Jose at home.
