Union 2 – D.C. 1: Black-and-Red unable to avoid defeat at Subaru Park

Philadelphia Union eased past D.C. United in a 2-1 victory on Sunday at Subaru Park. As it stands, Union are in 2nd place, with 23 points from 17 matches, while D.C. sit in 9th, with 16 points from 17.

The first half of the game started well for Union, with Santos finding the net, at 11 minutes, finalising the first half 1-0.

D.C. fought back, thanks to an early goal from Asad in the 50th minute. Union managed to edge ahead with a goal from Przybyłko after 83 minutes and seeing the game end 2-1.

Both coaches made full use of their substitutions. For Union, Sullivan, came on for Santos, D.C. brought on Nyeman, Reyna, Griffin Yow, Felipe Martins and Brillant to replace Canouse, Perez, Robertha, Asad and Birnbaum.

There were bookings for José Martinez from Union. For D.C., Asad and Reyna saw yellow.
