Orlando City strolled past D.C. United with a 2-1 win on Sunday at Exploria Stadium. Following today’s result, Orlando are in 3rd place on the table and has 42 points while D.C. sit in 4th with 40 points after 38 matches.

D.C. started the first half well, with Julian Gressel finding the net after only 7 minutes. However, their lead was short lived, as Jansson equalised for Orlando, 17 minutes in, which brought James O’connor’s squad level at 1-1 at the half time break

The Lions rallied after this and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Daryl Dike just before the final whistle so at full time it was 2-1 to Orlando.

For Orlando, Mas, Van De Water, Perea, Akindele and Mueller, came on for Moutinho, Pereyra, Mendez, Nani and Michel. D.C. brought on Mora, Flores, Robertha, Felipe Martins and Chris Odoi-Atsem, to replace Alfaro, Reyna, Arriola, Kamara and Julian Gressel.

The referee booked three players from D.C., Alfaro, Canouse and Hamid.

Orlando will next travel to Cincinnati, while D.C. will face Nashville SC at home.
