Orlando 3 – Columbus 2: The Lions deliver decisive win at Exploria Stadium

Orlando City snatched all three points from Columbus Crew in a 3-2 victory on Sunday, at Exploria Stadium. As things stand, Orlando are currently 3rd with 38 points from 30 matches, while Columbus sit in 9th, with 27 points from 30.

The Lions found the net first, with Daryl Dike giving Orlando the lead at the 26 minute mark. Orlando then scored once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Van De Water in the 30th minute, finalising the first half 2-0.

Columbus fought back, thanks to Antônio Carlos finding the net in the 52nd minute. The momentum was now with The Crew, who then scored again through a goal from Miguel Berry, at 54 minutes to establish a 2-2. The Lions managed to edge ahead with a goal from Júnior Urso at the 69 minute mark and seeing the game end 3-2.

For Orlando, Pereyra, Michel, Akindele, Smith and Schlegel, came on for Nani, Van De Water, Daryl Dike, Ruan and Mueller. Columbus brought on Williams, Hurtado, Wright-Phillips and Parente, to replace Keita, Matan, Miguel Berry and Etienne.

The referee booked Júnior Urso and Joey Dezart for Orlando.

Columbus and Orlando will next play away to Inter Miami and Atlanta United respectively.
