NYC 2 – Revs 0: The Pigeons enjoy the home win and all 3 points

New York defeat New England Revolution 2-0 on Sunday at Yankee Stadium. After today’s result, NYC and Revs currently occupy 4th and 1st spots in the table, with 34 points and 49 points respectively after 29 matches.

The Pigeons started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, thanks to a goal from Castellanos, 33 minutes in, to take a 1-0 lead into half time.

NYC started the second half with an intensified spirit, with Castellanos finding the net again at the 55 minute mark, leaving the final score at 2-0.

For NYC, Andres Jasson, Acevedo, Morales, Amundsen and Talles Magno, came on for Rodríguez, Medina, Parks, Thórarinsson and Castellanos. Revs replaced Boateng, Dejuan Jones, Traustason, Mafla and Bunbury for Bou, De La Garza, Polster, Edward Kizza and Kaptoum.

There were bookings for Rodríguez, Sands, Chanot, Thórarinsson and Andres Jasson from NYC. For Revs, Farrell and Polster saw yellow.
