New York snatched all three points from Inter Miami in a 2-0 victory on Sunday, at Yankee Stadium. Following today’s result, NYC and Inter are 2nd, (31 points) and 14th, (13 points), in the league respectively, after 25 matches.
The Pigeons started strongly in the first half, thanks to Castellanos giving NYC the lead, 21 minutes in. However they weren’t finished yet and Castellanos made it 2-0 just before half-time. The score at half time was 2-0. Both teams unable to deliver anything further, the score remained at 2-0 at full time.
For NYC, Thórarinsson, Medina, Rodríguez, Talles Magno and Andres Jasson, came on for Amundsen, Ismael Tajouri, Andrade, Moralez and Castellanos. Inter brought on Vassilev, Higuaín, Carranza, Makoun and Chapman, to replace Ulloa, Pizarro, Higuaín, Gibbs and Matuidi.
There were bookings for Amundsen and Parks from NYC. For Inter, Gregore, Leerdam and Gibbs saw yellow.
NYC will next travel to Philadelphia Union, while Inter will face Chicago Fire at home.
