NYC 2 – Atlanta 0- The Pigeons take a place in the Playoffs

Atlanta United says goodbye to MLS this season, after being eliminated in the game against its rival, NYC. It’s not a good ending for Atlanta, but they have to be satisfied with the season they have achieved.

After a goalless first half, Whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on The Pigeons who started the second half well, thanks to an early goal from Castellanos in the 49th minute. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Callens, at 53 minutes with a final score of 2-0.

For NYC, Talles Magno, Rocha and Andres Jasson, came on for Rodríguez, Medina and Morales. Atlanta brought on Damm and Mulraney, to replace Luiz Araujo and Sosa.

In the second round of action in the Major League Soccer, both Atlanta and NYC will play at home against Chicago Fire and Cincinnati respectively.
