Revs 3 – Red Bulls 2- Metro unable to avoid defeat at Gillette Stadium

New England Revolution defeat New York Red Bulls 3-2 on Thursday at Gillette Stadium. After today’s result, Revs and Red Bulls currently occupy 1st and 7th spots in the table, with 23 points and 12 points respectively after 12 matches.

Revs started the first half well, thanks to Buchanan finding the net, on 27 minutes. Revs then netted once more and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Dejuan Jones at the 33 minute mark to secure a 2-0 win.

Revs fought back, with a goal from Bou, 51 minutes in. However, Red Bulls weren’t lying down and managed to pull back a goal from Klimala at the 53 minute mark. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Andrés Reyes in the 75th minute with a final score of 3-2.

For Revs, Maciel, Traustason, Buksa and Caldwell, came on for Polster, Bunbury, Bou and Buchanan. Red Bulls replaced Carmona, Barlow and Pendant with Amaya, Yearwood and John Tolkin.

There were bookings for Polster from Revs, and Duncan, for Red Bulls.
