Nashville 3 – Phili 2- Visitors to Nissan Stadium leave with nothing

Nashville SC beats Toronto FC 3-2 on Thursday at Nissan Stadium. As it stands, Nashville are in 5th place, with 14 points from 13 matches, while Phili sit in 13th, with 5 points from 13.

Phili started the game well, with Osorio finding the net in the 26th minute. The score at half time was 0-1.

Nashville continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Maher in the 62nd minute. However, each side looked hungry to win and Phili then found the back of the net in the 81st minute thanks to Mullins, taking the score to 2-1. However, their lead was short-lived, as an equalizer from Haakenson at the 83 minute mark, brought Nashville level. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a 2nd effort from Haakenson just before the final whistle with a final score of 3-2.

Both teams used all available substitutes. For Nashville, Haakenson and Piñeiro, came on for Muyl and Leal, Phili brought on Okello, Morrow, Mullins and Endoh, to replace Pozuelo, Osorio, Akinola and Auro.

There were bookings for Godoy, Muyl and Haakenson from Nashville. For Phili, Zavaleta, Auro and Bradley saw yellow.
