Montréal snatched all three points from Toronto FC in a 3-1 victory on Saturday, at Stade Saputo. As the table looks today, MON are currently 6th with 31 points from 29 matches, while Phili sit in 14th, with 15 points from 29.
MON started the game well, with Piette finding the net, at 24 minutes, ending the first half 1-0.
Phili took the initiative in the second half, thanks to Achara finding the net, 57 minutes in. However, each side looked hungry to win and MON then found the back of the net at the 68 minute mark thanks to Torres, taking the score to 2-1. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Quioto, 75 minutes in to make it 3-1.
For MON, Quioto, Ahmed Hamdi, Bassong and Maciel, came on for Piette, Johnsen, Brault-Guillard and Mihailovic. Phili brought on Osorio, Endoh, Morrow, Dwyer and Delgado, to replace Laryea, Achara, Lawrence, Soteldo and Pozuelo.
The referee booked Struna, Piette and Camacho from MON. Phili had the worst of it though, with Lawrence and González seeing yellow, and Okello then sent off with a red.
