MON were held to 2-2 draw by Union down on Saturday at Stade Saputo. Following today’s result, MON are in 5th place, with 41 points from 38 matches, while Union sit in 3rd, with 46 points from 38.
It was an impressive opening from MON, with Miljevic giving MON the lead in the 33rd minute, to take a 1-0 lead into half time.
Union took the lead in the second half, thanks to a goal from Pantemis, 63 minutes in. Union looked to have the game under control when they scored again and incerased their lead, thanks to a goal from Wagner, 77 minutes in to establish a 2-1. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Ibrahim equalised for MON just before the final whistle. The game ended wih a 2-2 draw.
Both coaches used the full entitlement. For MON, Ibrahim, Johnsen and Kizza, came on for Miljevic, Maciel and Choiniere, Union brought on Gazdag, Bueno and Harriel, to replace Sullivan, Jamiro Monteiro and Aaronson.
The referee booked Mihailovic and Waterman for MON.
