Montréal’s 2-1 win over New York on Thursday, was hard fought at Stade Saputo. After today’s result, MON and NYC currently occupy 4th and 6th spots in the table, with 19 points and 17 points respectively after 16 matches.
NYC started strongly in the first half, thanks to a goal from Parks at the 29 minute mark. However, their lead was short lived, as Toye equalised for MON just before half-time, which saw the first half end 1-1.
MON rallied after this and were rewarded, with a goal from Quioto at the 73 minute mark so at full time it was 2-1 to MON.
For MON, Brault-Guillard, Torres, Ahmed Hamdi, Johnsen and Waterman, came on for Lappalainen, Toye, Mihailovic, Quioto and Choiniere. NYC brought on Andrade, Thórarinsson, Medina and Talles Magno, to replace Ibeagha, Amundsen, Ismael Tajouri and Parks.
There were bookings for Brault-Guillard from MON, and Moralez, Ibeagha and Morales, for NYC.
MON will play at home against Cincinnati, while NYC will face Columbus Crew away.
