Montréal snatched all three points from Atlanta United in a 2-1 victory on Sunday, at Stade Saputo. As things stand, MON and Atlanta currently occupy 4th and 7th spots in the league, with 40 points and 39 points respectively after 37 matches.
After a goalless first half, Whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on Atlanta who started the second half well, with an early goal from Mulraney in the 48th minute. However, they were unable to maintain their lead, Quioto managed to equalize and take the sides off, 50 minutes in at 1-1. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a second effort from Quioto, at 55 minutes to make it 2-1.
For MON, Ibrahim, Bassong and Johnsen, came on for Quioto, Brault-Guillard and Torres. Atlanta replaced Hernández, Josef Martinez, Walkes and Rossetto for Mulraney, Luiz Araujo, Franco Ibarra and Chol.
There were bookings for Ibrahim, Camacho and Choiniere from MON. For Atlanta, Walkes saw yellow.
