Minnesota 2 – Kansas 1- The Loons triumph over Wizards at Allianz Field

Minnesota United beat Sporting Kansas City with a thumping 2-1 victory on Sunday at Allianz Field. Following today’s result, Minnesota are currently 5th with 48 points from 44 matches, while Kansas sit in 1st, with 58 points from 44.

Kansas found the net first, with Shelton finding the net in the 8th minute. However, their lead didn’t last for long, Fragapane producing an equaliser, 20 minutes in, bringing Minnesota level. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Reynoso in the 39th minute. The score at half time was 2-1. Both teams unable to deliver anything further, the score remained at 2-1 at full time.

Both managers used all available substitutions. For Minnesota, Finlay and Dotson, came on for Hunou and Reynoso, Kansas brought on Salloi, Barber, Amadoy Dia and Mauri, to replace Duke, Shelton, Martins and Espinoza.

There were bookings for Alonso and Fragapane from Minnesota, and Duke, Kinda and Amadoy Dia, for Kansas.
