Los Angeles FC fell to a home defeat at the hands of Portland Timbers at Banc of California Stadium on Thursday. As it stands, Los Angeles and Portland currently occupy 9th and 4th spots in the league, with 33 points and 43 points respectively after 37 matches.
It was an impressive opening from Portland, thanks to a goal from Chará just before half-time and seeing the first half out 0-1.
Los Angeles took the initiative in the second half, with a goal from Danny Musovski in the 56th minute. In the end though, The Timbers at the 60 minute mark took the victory following a Asprilla goal and seeing the game end 2-1.
For Los Angeles, Danny Musovski, Kim Moon-Hwan, Farfan and Bryce Duke, came on for Palacios, Ngalina, Ibeagha and Ginella. Portland brought on Valeri, Fochive, Moreno, Niezgoda and Loria for Blanco, Paredes, Chará, Mora and Asprilla.
There were bookings for Palacios and Arango from Los Angeles. For Portland, Paredes, Asprilla and Valeri saw yellow.
