Inter suffered an away loss to Inter Miami on Thursday at Inter Miami CF Stadium. As it stands, Inter are in 11th place, with 35 points from 40 matches, while Phili sit in 13th, with 25 points from 40.
Inter started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with Higuaín opening the rout at the 10 minute mark. The Herons then netted once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Makoun just before half-time, ending the first half 2-0.
Inter continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Zavaleta finding the net at the 61 minute mark and seeing the game end 3-0.
For Inter, Matuidi, Robinson, Pizarro, Carranza and Sami Guediri, came on for Chapman, Higuaín, Higuaín, Morgan and Brek Shea. Phili brought on Laryea, Altidore, Osorio, Nelson and Jordan Perruzza, to replace Soteldo, Mullins, Bradley, Shaffelburg and Marshall-Ruty.
The referee booked Higuaín and González Pirez for Inter.
Inter next face Cincinnati and Phili are at home to Montréal.
