Houston 1 – COLO 3: Orange Crush unable to stop visitors getting win

Houston on Sunday lost to Colorado Rapids on a home defeat at BBVA Compass Stadium. As it stands, Houston and COLO currently occupy 11th and 4th spots in the table, with 18 points and 31 points respectively after 25 matches.

COLO started the first half well, thanks to an early goal from Abubakar in the 5th minute. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Picault equalised for Houston just before half-time, which brought Tab Ramos’ squad level at 1-1 at the half time break

COLO continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Barrios at the 60 minute mark. COLO then netted once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Galván, 80 minutes in to make it 3-1.

For Houston, Lassiter, Valentin, Corona, Memo Rodríguez and Bajamich, came on for Figueroa, Jones, Picault, Dorsey and Junqua. COLO brought on Jonathan Lewis, Galván, Warner, Mezquida and Badji, to replace Barrios, Rubio, Price, Shinyashiki and Kaye.

The referee booked one player from COLO, Rubio.
