Hellas Verona 1-2 Fiorentina: The Purple One beat The Yellow and Blues in 2-1, in narrow away win

Verona were defeated at home by Fiorentina at the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi on Tuesday. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Verona were looking to get back winning ways, following a previous defeat to Sampdoria. Fiorentina were beaten 3-1 in the previous match against Sassuolo. After today’s result, Verona are in 9th place on the table and has 41 points while Fiorentina sit in 13th with 33 points after 32 matches.

The Purple One found the net first, thanks to Dusan Vlahovic giving Fiorentina the lead just before half-time, to take a 0-1 lead into half time.

Fiorentina continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Martin Caceres at the 65 minute mark. Verona in turn, then responded at the 72 minute mark increasing their lead with an effort from Eddie Salcedo. The game ended with a 2-1 victory for the visitors.

For Verona, Eddie Salcedo, Mattia Zaccagni, Stefano Sturaro, Giangiacomo Magnani and Nikola Kalinic, came on for Franck Ribery, Giacomo Bonaventura and Cristiano Biraghi. Fiorentina brought on Christian Kouame, Gaetano Castrovilli and Igor, to replace Franck Ribery, Giacomo Bonaventura and Cristiano Biraghi.

There were bookings for Koray Gunter and Stefano Sturaro from Verona, and Giacomo Bonaventura, Christian Kouame and Lucas Martinez Quarta, for Fiorentina.

Verona will next travel to Internazionale, while Fiorentina will face Juventus at home.
