D.C. United eased past Minnesota United in a 3-1 victory on Thursday at Audi Field. After today’s result, D.C. are in 3rd place, with 40 points from 36 matches, while Minnesota sit in 6th, with 37 points from 36.
D.C. started the game well, thanks to a goal from Kamara, 23 minutes in. However, they were unable to maintain their lead, Dibassy managed to equalize and take the sides off at the 40 minute mark at 1-1. Black-and-Red in turn, then responded just before half-time increasing their lead with an effort from Julian Gressel, to take a 2-1 lead into half time.
D.C. continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Moreno finding the net just before the final whistle. The game ended with a 3-1 victory for D.C.
For D.C., Flores, Moreno, Robertha, Mora and Nyeman, came on for Felipe Martins, Reyna, Kamara, Paredes and Arriola. Minnesota replaced Finlay, Fragapane, Lod, Hayes and Kallman for Hunou, Niko Hansen, Adi, Rosales and Agudelo.
There were bookings for Birnbaum and Arriola from D.C., and Hayes, Trapp, Kallman and Chase Gasper, for Minnesota.
