Columbus Crew strolled past D.C. United with a 3-1 win on Sunday at Audi Field. As it stands, both teams are on 44 points and occupy 8th and 9th places respectively after 44 matches.
D.C. found the net first, thanks to an early goal from Arriola in the 3rd minute. However, their lead was short lived, as Zelarayán equalised for Columbus just before half-time, finalising the first half 1-1.
The Crew continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Pedro Santos at the 66 minute mark. Columbus then netted once more and increased their advantage thanks to a second effort from Zelarayán at the 76 minute mark to make it 3-1.
