D.C. United eased past Cincinnati in a 4-2 victory on Sunday at Audi Field. After today’s result, D.C. are currently 6th with 37 points from 35 matches, while Cin sit in 13th, with 20 points from 35.
D.C. started the game well, thanks to Arriola finding the net early in the first half. The momentum was now with Black-and-Red, who then scored again through a goal from Birnbaum at the 21 minute mark to establish a 2-0. D.C. then scored once more and increased their lead thanks to a 2nd effort from Arriola just before half-time, to take a 3-0 lead into half time.
D.C. continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Robertha finding the net at the 74 minute mark. However, Orange and Blue weren’t lying down and managed to pull back a goal from Vázquez, 80 minutes in. However they weren’t finished yet and Acosta made it 4-2 in the 84th minute to make it 4-2.
For D.C., Reyna, Felipe Martins, Brillant, Robertha and Griffin Yow, came on for Arriola, Canouse, Najar, Kamara and Paredes. Cin brought on Harris, Blackett, Mokotjo, Valot and Vázquez, to replace Bailey, Hagglund, Cruz, Stanko and Kubo.

D.C. will next play Minnesota United at home, with Cin facing Toronto FC away.
