D.C. 1 – Atlanta 2- Visitors deliver victory against Black-and-Red

Atlanta United strolled past D.C. United with a 2-1 win on Sunday at Audi Field. After today’s result, both teams are on 27 points and occupy 7th and 8th places respectively after 28 matches.

Atlanta started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, thanks to Josef Martinez giving Atlanta the lead, 25 minutes in. The score at half time was 0-1.

Black-and-Red staged a comeback in the second half, with a goal from Reyna in the 54th minute. In the end though, Atlanta in the 82nd minute took the victory following a Moreno goal, leaving the final score at 2-1.

For D.C., Reyna, Skundrich, Felipe Martins, Ábila and Griffin Yow, came on for Mora, Flores, Canouse, Najar and Paredes. Atlanta brought on Rossetto, Campbell and Hernández, to replace Amar Sejdic, Franco and Luiz Araujo.

There were bookings for Alfaro, Canouse, Moreno and Julian Gressel from D.C., and George Bello, for Atlanta.

D.C. next face Philadelphia Union and Atlanta are at home to Nashville SC.
