Columbus were defeated at home by Seattle Sounders at MAPFRE Stadium on Sunday. Following today’s result, Columbus and Seattle currently occupy 9th and 1st spots in the table, with 24 points and 42 points respectively after 28 matches.
After an un-eventful first half, Columbus fought back the second half, thanks to Wright-Phillips finding the net in the 78th minute. However, their lead was short-lived, as an equalizer from Arreaga in the 88th minute, brought The Sounders level. Seattle then scored again and turned the match thanks to a goal from Bruin just before the final whistle with a final score of 2-1.
For Columbus, Wright-Phillips, Díaz and Molino, came on for Miguel Berry, Etienne and Francis. Seattle brought on Benezet, Rowe, Medranda, Atencio and Bruin, to replace Montero, Roldan, Smith, Lodeiro and O’Neill.
