Columbus 4 – Inter 0- The Herons blown away at MAPFRE Stadium

On Sunday, Inter Miami suffer an away defeat to Columbus Crew at MAPFRE Stadium. As it stands, Columbus are in 10th place on the table and has 37 points while Inter sit in 11th with 32 points after 39 matches.

Columbus started strongly in the first half, with Zardes opening the rout, 40 minutes in. The Crew then scored once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Pedro Santos just before half-time to see out the first half 2-0.

Columbus continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Zardes finding the net again in the 65th minute. Columbus then netted once more and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from González Pirez after 83 minutes with a final score of 4-0.

For Columbus, Matan, Fraser, Miguel Berry, Afful and Wright-Phillips, came on for Pedro Santos, Zelarayán, Zardes, Moreira and Nagbe. Inter brought on Brek Shea, Carranza, Higuaín and Chapman for Sami Guediri, Robinson, Higuaín and Vassilev.

There were bookings for Wormgoor from Columbus. For Inter, Higuaín, Leerdam, Makoun and Carranza saw yellow.
