Columbus Crew snatched all three points from Cincinnati in a 3-2 victory on Saturday, at MAPFRE Stadium. As things stand, Columbus are in 9th place, with 27 points from 29 matches, while Cin sit in 13th, with 17 points from 29.
Columbus started the game well, with Zelarayán giving The Crew the lead, 44 minutes in. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Matarrita equalised for Cin just before half-time, which brought Jaap Stam’s squad level at 1-1 at the half time break
Orange and Blue took the initiative in the second half, thanks to Atanga finding the net at the 75 minute mark. However, their lead didn’t last for long, Miguel Berry producing an equaliser, 81 minutes in, bringing Columbus level. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a second effort from Miguel Berry, 83 minutes in with a final score of 3-2.
For Columbus, Francis, Miguel Berry, Matan and Keita, came on for Díaz, Wright-Phillips, Fraser and Wormgoor. Cin brought on Atanga, Vázquez and Medunjanin, to replace Valot, Brenner and Cameron.
