Columbus Crew 2-0 Chicago Fire: Hosts Claim Comfortable Success

Columbus Crew beat Chicago Fire with a thumping 2-0 victory on Sunday at MAPFRE Stadium. As the table looks today, Columbus are in 8th place, with 47 points from 45 matches, while Chicago sit in 12th, with 34 points from 45.

Columbus started strongly in the first half, thanks to a goal from Zelarayán, 31 minutes in, ending the first half 1-0.

The Crew continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Miguel Berry finding the net, at 58 minutes and seeing the game end 2-0.

For Columbus, Fraser, Díaz, Matan, Wright-Phillips and Afful, came on for Hairston, Etienne, Pedro Santos, Moreira and Miguel Berry. Chicago brought on Ivanov, Espinoza, Alex Monis, Omsberg and Javier Casas, to replace Medrán, Sekulić, Offor, Terán and Gutierrez.

The referee booked Navarro, Offor, Espinoza and Ivanov for Chicago.
