Atlanta United eased past Columbus Crew in a 3-2 victory on Sunday at MAPFRE Stadium. As the table looks today, Columbus are in 7th place, with 24 points from 24 matches, while Atlanta sit in 10th, with 18 points from 24.
Atlanta dominated the first half, thanks to an early goal from Barco in the 5th minute. Atlanta looked to have the game under control when they scored again and incerased their lead, thanks to a second effort from Barco at the 34 minute mark to establish a 2-0. Columbus in turn, then responded, at 37 minutes increasing their lead with an effort from Mensah to see out the first half 1-2.
Atlanta continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Moreno, 65 minutes in. In the end though, The Crew pull-back just before the final whistle, with a goal from Pedro Santos. The game ended 3-2 to Atlanta.
For Columbus, Etienne, Francis, Abdul-Salaam, Wright-Phillips and Matan, came on for Molino, Afful, Díaz, Zardes and Hairston. Atlanta brought on Torres, López and Campbell, to replace Conway, Rossetto and Moreno.
