Columbus Crew strolled past Toronto FC with a 2-1 win on Saturday at MAPFRE Stadium. As it stands, Columbus are in 4th place on the table and has 11 points while Phili sit in 12th with 5 points after 9 matches.
Columbus started strongly in the first half, thanks to Díaz finding the net, 12 minutes in. The Crew then netted once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Zardes in the 21st minute to secure a 2-0 win.
Phili started the second half with renewed vigour, with a goal from Akinola in the 52nd minute, leaving the final score at 2-1.
For Columbus, Abdul-Salaam, Mensah, Wright-Phillips and Matan, came on for Wormgoor, Artur, Zardes and Díaz. Phili brought on Singh, Pozuelo, Nelson and Mullins, to replace Mavinga, Deleon, Shaffelburg and Delgado.
