COLO 2 – RSL 1: Claret and Cobalt unable to avoid defeat at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park

Real Salt Lake fell to an away defeat at the hands of Colorado Rapids at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on Sunday. As the table looks today, COLO are in 3rd place, with 37 points from 28 matches, while RSL sit in 6th, with 27 points from 28.

After an un-eventful first half, Whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on Claret and Cobalt who started the second half well, thanks to a goal from Rusnák, 51 minutes in. However, the good fortune didn’t last for long. An equalizer from Rubio in the 64th minute brought COLO level. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Mayaka, at 71 minutes with a final score of 2-1.

For COLO, Galván, Shinyashiki and Jonathan Lewis, came on for Barrios, Rubio and Bassett. RSL brought on Putna, Meram, Chang and Powder, to replace Macmath, Julio, Menéndez and Toia.

There were bookings for Galván from COLO. For RSL, Toia, Menéndez, Meram and Kreilach saw yellow.
