Colorado Rapids snatched all three points from Houston Dynamo in a 3-1 victory on Sunday, at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. After today’s result, COLO are currently 3rd with 10 points from 7 matches, while Houston sit in 5th, with 8 points from 7.

COLO started strongly in the first half, with Vines finding the net at the 30 minute mark. COLO looked to have the game under control when they scored again and incerased their lead, thanks to a goal from Rubio, on 37 minutes to establish a 2-0. However, Houston weren’t lying down and managed to pull back a goal from Ramirez in the 39th minute. However, COLO just before half-time increased their advantage following a Bassett goal, to take a 3-1 lead into half time. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the game ended 3-1.

For COLO, Benezet, Mezquida and Oliver Larraz, came on for Shinyashiki, Barrios and Price. Houston replaced Memo Rodríguez, Jones, Ramirez, Lemoine and Lundqvist for Fafà Picault, Corona, Maxi Urruti, Bajamich and Boniek García.

There were bookings for Mezquida from COLO. For Houston, Corona and Figueroa saw yellow.
