Cin on Sunday lost to New York on a home defeat at Nippert Stadium. As it stands, Cin are in 13th place, with 20 points from 33 matches, while NYC sit in 3rd, with 38 points from 33.
Orange and Blue started strongly in the first half, thanks to an early goal from Brenner in the 5th minute. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Parks equalised for NYC in the 37th minute. The score at half time was 1-1.
The Pigeons continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Castellanos finding the net in the 58th minute and seeing the game end 2-1.
For Cin, Cruz, Vázquez and Blackett, came on for Medunjanin, Castillo and Cameron. NYC brought on Andres Jasson, Callens, Acevedo, Amundsen and Rocha, to replace Gloster, Medina, Morales, Thórarinsson and Ismael Tajouri.
The referee booked Cameron and Barreal from Cin and Barreal and Atanga went off with a red card, while NYC’s Ismael Tajouri, Morales, Andres Jasson, Johnson and Callens also received a yellow.
