Cin 3 – Nashville 6: Home side humiliated by travelling Nippert Stadium

Nashville SC rolls over Cincinnati 6-3 on Thursday at Nippert Stadium. As it stands, Cin are in 14th place on the table and has 20 points while Nashville sit in 2nd with 52 points after 43 matches.

Orange and Blue started the first half well, with a goal from Romney early in the first half. Cin looked to have the game under control when they scored again and incerased their lead, thanks to a goal from Brenner in the 17th minute to establish a 2-0. However, Nashville weren’t lying down and managed to pull back a goal from Zimmerman at the 28 minute mark. However, Cin increased their lead with a Vázquez goal in the 32nd minute to make it 3-1. However, Nashville secured the points emphatically, with a goal from Leal just before half-time to see out the first half 3-2.

Nashville continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Sapong finding the net, 71 minutes in. The momentum was now with Nashville, who then scored again through a second effort from Leal at the 76 minute mark to establish a 4-3. Nashville looked to have the game under control when they scored again, thanks to a goal from Aké Loba, 80 minutes in to establish a 5-3. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a 2nd effort from Sapong just before the final whistle to make it 6-3.

For Cin, Mokotjo, Harris, Barreal, Atanga and Ordonez, came on for Stanko, Kubo, Brenner, Bailey and Medunjanin. Nashville brought on Aké Loba, Washington, Muyl, Maher and Matt Lagrassa for Haakenson, Lovitz, Leal, Tah Anunga and Mukhtar.

There were bookings for Cameron and Acosta from Cin, and Lovitz, for Nashville.

Nashville and Cin will next play away to Orlando City and Philadelphia Union respectively.
