Chicago Fire’s 2-1 win over New York Red Bulls on Monday, was hard fought at SeatGeek Stadium. As the table looks today, Chicago and Red Bulls are 11th, (17 points) and 9th, (19 points), spots respectively, after 24 matches.
Chicago started the first half well, with an early goal from Stojanović in the 2nd minute. Chicago then scored once more and increased their advantage thanks to a second effort from Stojanović, 8 minutes in to secure a 2-0 win.
Red Bulls took the initiative in the second half, thanks to a goal from Barlow just before the final whistle, leaving the final score at 2-1.
For Chicago, Berić and Omsberg, came on for Collier and Terán. Red Bulls brought on Gutman, Fernandez and Barlow, to replace Cásseres, Carmona and Clark.
There were bookings for Offor from Chicago. For Red Bulls, Edwards, Davis, Tarek and Gutman saw yellow.
Chicago will next play Columbus Crew at home, with Red Bulls facing Montréal away.
