Austin 1 – Caps 2: The Village, ecstatic seal precious away win

Austin on home loss to Vancouver Whitecaps at Q2 Stadium on Thursday. After today’s result, Austin are in 13th place on the table and has 16 points while Caps sit in 11th with 20 points after 27 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Austin, with Ring finding the net, 37 minutes in. The score at half time was 1-0.

The Village started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, thanks to a goal from Jakob Nerwinski in the 52nd minute. Caps then netted once more and turned the match thanks to a goal from Brian White in the 74th minute with a final score of 2-1.

For Austin, Gallagher, Stroud, Kolmanic, Redes and Cascante, came on for Domínguez, Jiménez, Fagundez, Pochettino and Romaña. Caps replaced Gauld, Ricketts, Baldisimo and Jungwirth with Owusu, Brian White, Teibert and Rose.

There were bookings for Jiménez and Besler from Austin. For Caps, Dájome saw yellow.

Austin next face Portland Timbers and Caps are at home to Los Angeles FC.
