Austin’s 3-1 win over Sporting Kansas City on Thursday, was hard fought at Q2 Stadium. As the table looks today, Austin and Kansas sit 12th, (31 points) and 2nd, (58 points), spots respectively, after 45 matches.
Austin dominated the first half, thanks to an early goal from Driussi in the 1st minute. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Cascante at the 22 minute mark, finalising the first half 2-0.
Los Verdes continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Stroud finding the net, at 60 minutes. Wizards in turn, then responded, 65 minutes in increasing their lead with an effort from Russell. When the final wisthle blew, the result was 3-1 to Austin.
Both teams used all available substitutes. For Austin, Gaines, Domínguez, Kleemann and Wolff, came on for Djitte, Stroud, Fagundez and Driussi, Kansas brought on Duke and Barber, to replace Kinda and Russell.
